In 2012 Mrs Collins was awarded £179,000 in compensation after she sued her employer following a robbery at the off-license that she
managed, whilst she was working. Her employer had not provided any form of training for protection against aggression or violence, during her employment. The court judged that the employer had
failed, where reasonably practicable, to ensure the health and well being of their employee. This is violation of the 1974 Health & Safety at Work Act (Section 2).
